* PROBLEM: Breast cancer is very difficult to self-detect.
* SOLUTION: A wearable breast model comprises a convex base board for detachably mounting the breast model onto a chest portion of a human body, 2 simulated breasts, and a strap. Each simulated breast comprises a dome-shaped elastic membrane formed into the shape of a human breast for simulating skin tissues of a human breast, a quantity of gel for simulating soft tissues of a human breast, and a plurality of particles for simulating lumps of cancerous cells. A female or male patient wearing the breast model is able to practise self-examination of breast cancer detection herself/himself by manually touching the simulated breasts and feeling the lumps of breast cancer cells in a natural position and movement of fingers, hands and arms. (Canadian Patent 2 369 628)
* ENDORSEMENT: Dear Abby says in her newspaper column "While not all women's breasts feel the same, a model with various sized "lumps" could be a lifesaver for a lot of people -- men included." (2001-12-19)
* The Wearable Breast Cancer Self-Examination Model can be marketed to medical clinics and to family physicians for patient education.
* The Wearable Breast Cancer Self-Examination Model is useful for public education by the Breast Cancer Society, etc.
* The Wearable Breast Cancer Self-Examination Model can be manufactured using conventional technology in a factory.
* There are no comparable products in the marketplace.
